Stephen Wayne Minor's Obituary
A memorial service for Stephen Wayne Minor, 48, of White Oak, will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. before the service.
Steve was born in Longview, Texas on December 20, 1969 to Wesley and Gladys Minor and left this earth on August 5, 2018 in Tyler, Texas. Steve graduated from Pine Tree High School and was employed by Great American Coil in White Oak. His hobbies included spending time with family and friends, loving on his fur babies, taking care of his truck, ”Ol’ Whitey,” riding 4-wheelers in the Arkansas and Oklahoma mountains, going fishing at the beach, and spending time at the lake.
Steve is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Albert and Ruby Minor and maternal grandparents, George and Ola Luman. He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie, of White Oak; parents Wesley and Gladys Minor of Longview; sister Syenda Patterson and her husband Tim of Anna, TX; parents-in-law James and Sue King, sister-in-law Stephanie Hunter and her husband Rodney, all of White Oak; brother-in-law Brian King and his wife Jacy, of Nacogdoches; 2 beautiful nieces and 4 handsome nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and countless friends. Steve truly was a giant teddy bear of a man who was loved by all.
Steve had a special place in his heart for a very special young man named Heath Faucheux. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Heath’s honor to Troop 620 Memorial Fund at East Texas Area Council, 1331 E. 5th Street, Tyler, TX 75701.
