Stephen David Capps passed away peacefully at his home on January 9, 2024. He was born in Longview, TX on July 29, 1965 to David and Glenda Capps. He was raised in the Pine Tree area of Longview and attended Pine Tree Schools grad Read Obituary
Steve was my manager and friend. He was well respected and successful in his career. We traveled for work together and played many rounds of golf and other sports together. I’ll miss you my friend.

Steve and I shared an enjoyable 'bond' - PERCUSSION!!! He was a great young band student in the 1970s at Pine Tree ISD, finding his lifetime joy away from work. So proud of his great success with the Boeing Corporation for many years. Mary & Don Lawler

I was so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. May you find comfort in God's blessings during this time of sorry. I will always have a fond memory of our opportunity to visit during our most recent high school reunion in October.
It’s not commonly known, but the International Space Station started as a drawing on Steve’s drafting table. Boeing VP Dick Grant concocted a scheme for the US to join forces with Russia to build together a space station neither could afford alone. Steve was one of three space architects in Boeing Advanced Civil Space Systems, along with Rob Fowler and me. He was assigned to develop a configuration that would combine Russian and Boeing elements. Over 30 years later, the ISS stands as humanity’s most impressive peacetime technological achievement and has been continuously occupied for a quarter century. I’m holding Steve’s family in the light.
My heart goes out to this precious family. Met them as newlyweds us 4 were living in the duplex next door to them My heart is crying inside knowing it's such a painful hurting time to go thru! Will miss dearly! We did a year ago with our first son and thru God, family and friends and our dear church we feel the love and prayers! God keeps them so alive in our hearts each day and forever! Prayers each day for you all.
I met Steve as a result of a program he managed for the Air Force and I was a Program Manager for the Air Force at the time. I go to know him just before he left Boeing and I thought he was a great guy. Condolences and prayers for the the family as he will surely be missed.
David and Glenda Capps have been our dear friends for many years. Steve and our son Jay played little league ball and went to Colorado backpacking with their church youth group. Steve was a talented musician and golfer. We are grieving with the family.
