I met Mr Butter and his partner John Vogt on his airplane at the airport in Austin, Texas where he hired me to run his Plumbing Supply Business in April 1981. That relationship lasted 20 years and changed my life. He completely trusted me from the first day, told me I was the President and walked away back to his airplane and of into the wild blue yonder.
He told me...keep your nose clean and make money...I rarely saw him unless it was to come to the University to fly a football player home or some other such errand....He was a prince of a man and he changed my life...i will never forget him...

I met Stephen and Patricia only a few years ago at Toulouse Restaurant in Dallas and would see them there from time to time. I so enjoyed his stories of his UT college days and his devotion to that school his whole life. Once when I told him my mom was an Ohio buckeye, he gave me an actual buckeye nut which he said he carried for good luck. I still have it. I will miss visiting with him. Dr. Rodney Schpok

Stephen was a member of the 1954 LHS graduating class and was a friendly and kind guy. He attended First Ward Elementary School. I was in South Ward Elementary School. Another elementary school was Campus Ward. We met each other in junior high and were together until graduation from high school. We will miss him.
