Stephen Ross Blalock's Obituary
Services for Stephen “Steve” Ross Blalock, 57, of Longview will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 2pm in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 8, from 6-8pm. Steve joined his daughter, Kinsey, in Heaven on Wednesday, September 6, 2016.
Steve was born on June 18, 1959 in Commerce, Texas to parents Giles and Juanita Blalock. He graduated from Harleton High School where he was an accomplished athlete, participating in baseball and basketball. Following high school, Steve attended Kilgore Junior College and Texas A&M. After a lengthy employment at Texas Eastman, as well as owning his own flooring business, Steve returned to school and received his RN. He was currently employed by Select Specialty Hospital. Steve enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time reading books.
Steve was preceded in death by his daughter, Mackinsey “Kinsey” Blalock. Those left to cherish their memories of Steve include his wife, Maranee Blalock; his parents, Giles and Juanita Blalock; His daughter, Nikki Moon (Cody); step-son Devon Gaddis; grandchildren, Avery and Kamden Moon; brother, Tim Blalock (Laura); nephew Austen Blalock; niece Alisa Sky Eagle-Smith (James). Steve will also be remembered by his numerous special friends and extended family.
