Stella Harper succumbed to a terminal illness on Friday, November 11, 2011. Stella was born on June 1, 1917 to Claude and Ethel Cammack in Center, Texas. She lived in both Pineland and Brookland until 1934 when she moved to Longview to help in her mother?s business, Ethel?s Dining Room. In 1936 Stella married Doyle E. Harper. During their 38 year marriage they were blessed with three daughters, Cecille, Sylvia and June. Regardless of numerous relocations during her marriage, Stella shared the joy of making music with everyone with whom she had contact. In 1947, Stella and her family moved to the community of Smyrna, TX and became active in Smyrna Baptist Church. Once again, she used her skills with cooking, sewing, and playing the piano to show her love of people.	Stella returned to Longview in 1978 to help care for her mother. During the ensuing years, Stella was an active member of Woodland Christian Church.
Buckner Westminster Place became Stella?s final residence in 1996. From the beginning she launched into numerous activities- playing the piano for various social functions and religious services, cooking and baking for friends and family, and enjoying the music programs Buckner provided. As her earthly days ended, Stella Constantly expressed her gratitude and love for her daughters, family and many friends.
Stella was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father, two brothers, Price and Jimmie Cammack, and her sister, Joe Bill Goode.
