Services for Stan Goings , 59, of Longview will be 2:00 pm Saturday at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Russell Craft of Longview Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Lakeview Cemetery. Mr. Goings died Tuesday in the Veterans Administration Hospital Shreveport..
Stan was born May 30, 1949 in Okaloosa, Florida. He served with the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. He was a purple heart recipient and was awarded a Presidential Unit Citation, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. While in the service, Stan was an outstanding rifleman and was a small arms proof director. He was employed as a quality control
inspector for Everlite, Inc. Stan was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and liked to spend time hunting and fishing.
Stan was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Goings, his grandmother, Arlie Vae Hendricks, and brother Gene Goings. He is survived by his wife, Tina Tullar Goings of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Cheryl Goings of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Gregory Hamil of Longview; grandchildren, Nathan and Alexander Piatt, Sidney and Dakoda; mother and step-father, , Margurite and Harold Tetrick of Rowlette; brother and sister-in-law, Donald L. and Virginia Goings of Olympia, Washington; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Aaron Joiner of Marbury, Alabama; step-mother, Arlette Goings of Millbrook, Alabama; half-sister and husband, Carol and Jeff Green of Millbrook, Alabama; half-sister, Cathy Goings of Millbrook, Alabama; half-sisters, Nancy Tetrick and Karen Bouton of the Metroplex; half-brother, Rodney Tetrick of the Metroplex; sister-in-law, Margaret Goings of Center, Texas and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Ruth Tullar of Pritchett, Texas and number of nieces and nephews.
