Socorro "Nita" Yoder's Obituary
Our beautiful mom passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, August 1st, 2020, after fighting a year long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family in her home in Mt. Enterprise, Texas
Nita was born in the Philippines on August 15, 1942,
She is preceded in death by her father, mother, siblings and son John.
She is survived by her children whom she loved with all of her heart, Lorna (Reuben) Byler, Ann Transue, Mike Stanley, all from Texas, Dean (Rhonda) Stanley, Harvey Stanley, both of Arizona, Donnie (Ericka) Stanley, of Hawaii, Robert (Kathy) Stanley, of Nevada , Shannon (Jason) Graham, Chad (Shelly) Yoder, of Texas, Terisa (David) Simmons, of Arkansas. Shawn (Stephanie) Yoder also of Texas along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren along with 3 more blessings due this year. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Coming to America in the early 60’s she and her first husband started a family. Having the opportunity to travel and see some of the US, living in CA, NY, and Colorado.
Making her way to Missouri she remarried and added to her family, and eventually settled in the big state of Texas.
As a seamstress she worked very hard and loved what she did. If she could have she would have spent every last penny in a thrift store or at a garage sale. Always looking for something to give to someone.
Never meeting a stranger she would talk and laugh with anyone. Her life was filled with times she spent with her many, many friends, who will miss her. Where ever she was you could see her smile for miles and hear her laugh.
Mom had a great love and joy for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved her as well. Her many nieces and nephews loved her dearly. If she could sit and listen to her children sing all day long she would. Never failing to brag on them all and make them sing.
She had a passion for gardening and flowers, could grow just about anything. Some more of her favorite things included dancing, music, shopping and cooking for her family and friends. We will never forget hearing her say “Eat” you need to “Eat”! Now someone, go make rice! Her quick wit and humor kept us all laughing.
Her love of all people and gathering together has been passed on to us all, we will miss her greatly each and every time we come together. We look forward to that day when we are together again.
The beautiful part of her life was displayed in the love she had for Jesus as she looked to him for forgiveness, salvation and ultimately the hope she had in “going home”
You are there in His presence mom, worship, dance, laugh and know that we will only love you forever and see you soon.
Services for Ms. Yoder will be Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 1 pm at Bar None Cowboy Church. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 pm at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson.
