Shirley Sue Wallace's Obituary
Shirley Sue Brister Wallace, 85, of Longview, TX died February 6, 2023, at her home surrounded by her children. Shirley was born May 12, 1937, to Elton and Mary Opal Brister as the second of four daughters. She was raised in New London, TX and graduated from Gaston High School.
After high school, Shirley worked as a secretary in Houston until she married Bob Wallace on August 6, 1960, in Henderson. Bob and Shirley lived and worked briefly in Dallas before settling their family in Longview. Shirley dedicated her life to being a homemaker and raising her children, Cindy, Glenn, and Susan. Shirley was a steadfast Christian and was a devoted member of Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and husband. Shirley is survived by her children, Cindy (Marty) Sullivan of Diana, Glenn (Amanda) Wallace of Colleyville, and Susan Wallace of Longview; her grandchildren, Zach Terry of Dallas, Jessie and Marty Jr. Sullivan of Diana, Jackson Wallace of Norman, OK, Grant Wallace of Richardson, TX, Lake and Colt Wallace of Colleyville, TX, Rylee Noon of Oxford, MS and Reid Noon of Longview, TX.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2023, with a visitation at 10:30am and service at 11:00am at Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. A private family burial will be held later that afternoon.
Arrangements are under the care of Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
