Shirley Pevey Russell
A celebration of life for Shirley Pevey Russell, 73, of Longview will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Alpine Church of Christ, 610 East Loop 281, with Jerry McCaghren officiating. Entombment will be in Rosewood Park. Mrs. Russell died Sunday morning after a valiant fight with cancer. She was born in Kaufman on February 25, 1935 to Victor and Gracie Rogers. She was a member of Alpine Church of Christ for over 50 years. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 ½ years, Donald Gene Pevey; her parents; and sister, Gloria Tutt. She is survived by her husband , Harold Russell; daughter and son-in-law, Dona and Rodney Williams; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lisa Pevey all of Longview; grandchildren, Ryan and Carrie Pevey of Arlington, Jonathan and Stacey Pevey of Longview, Sara Pevey of Longview, Jill and Drew Corbitt and Adam Williams of Longview; great grandson, Grayson Corbitt; and twin great granddaughters, Elizabeth and Olivia Corbitt, all of Longview. She is also survived by seven step-children and their families; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Burt and Sue Pevey of Longview; brother-in-law, Wayne Pevey of New York; and sister-in-law, Fay Pevey of Spring.
