Funeral services and burial for Shirley Moore Patterson, 82, of Longview will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at LaGrone Chapel UMC, Noonday Rd W & FM 2208 S, Longview, Texas. The visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00pm on Friday, evening, June 16th.
Mrs. Patterson was born June 13 in Price, Rusk Co, Texas the daughter of JW McClintock and Ruby Laverne Branton McClintock. She died peacefully at home on her 82nd birthday. She was united in marriage to Bobby Odell Moore on March 9, 1957 in Turnertown, Texas. He preceded her in death April 6, 1967.
Mrs. Patterson retired from Crawford & Company Insurance Adjusters where she worked as a clerk for many years and she was a member of Winterfield Methodist Church. A widow early in life, she fostered strong family bonds with and between her four daughters. Part of her legacy was giving love, support and advice to her family and friends.
She is survived by daughter; Nina Jari Carlisle and husband Kyle of Longview, Texas, Vickie Lea Moore and Teresa Ann Reynolds of Shreveport, LA and Diana J’nell Howell and husband Frank of Longview Texas; Grandchildren: John William “JW” Smelley, Gary Wayne Reynolds, James Eric Odell Smelley and Katherine Ann “Katee” Carlisle; Brother Wendell J McClintock and wife D’Anna of Keller, TX. She had several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank her private sitters Cassie Evans and Barbara Cruea, as well as HeartsWay Hospice for the kindness, care and love shown to their mother during her battle with cancer.
The family will be receiving visitors at Mrs. Patterson’s home following the funeral.
