Shirley Jean Davis' Obituary
WHITE OAK — Shirley Jean (Brossette) Davis, age 80, of White Oak, Texas was welcomed home into the arms of her heavenly father on January 4, 2017. Shirley was born February 12, 1936 in Shreveport, Louisiana to R. C. and Irene Brossette.
Shirley graduated from St. Vincent’s Academy and earned her Lab X-Ray tech degree from Schumpert in Shreveport, Louisiana. She married Charles “Pete” Davis in 1958 and raised her three daughters in Longview, Texas. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Each of her grandchildren have special memories of their Mawmaw. She attended every event they were involved in from the time they were born until the present. She made sure that every person she knew received a birthday card every year. She was known by her family for her southern cooking especially her fried chicken and fudge. Her favorite gift to family and friends were her special pecans.  Shirely served her community generously.  She is a member of The White Oak Lioness Club, The White Oak Community Club, Faithfull member of St. Theresa’s Catholic church, East Texas + American Radiology society, green street rec center seniors group, Longview Regional Sr. Circle + East Texas Professional club, 29+ holding.  She loved being around people.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Pete of 49 years; her parents, R. C. and Irene Brossette; her brother, Bill Brossette; sister, Rose Marie Elliott and sister-in-law, Sarah Brossette.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra and Ronny Graham of White Oak, Brenda and Bruce Selph of Longview and Susan Greening of Tyler; her grandchildren, Brian and Courtney Selph, Ashley and Pete Carr, Blake Selph and Shanna Kisner and Jennifer and Cody Szaltzer; her great-grandchildren, Grayson Selph, Nolan Carr, Sage Kisner and Lucas Copeland. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Robert D Brossette, Keith and Bernice Brossette, Sister Nancy Brossette, Karen and Russell Sturm, Kathy and Rick Williams, Denise Brossette and Sonja Brossette.
Services will be held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 10138 Union Grove Road, Gladewater, Texas 75647 on Saturday, January 7, 2017 with a rosary at 9 a.m. followed by a visitation and mass at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Rosewood Cemetery.
