Sherry R. Johnson's Obituary
Sherry Juanita Johnson, 83, of Longview, TX departed for her heavenly home on May 17th, 2026. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Rosewood Park of Longview, beginning at 12:00 PM. A visitation will be held the hour preceding the service.
Sherry was born January 3rd, 1943 in Hope, Arkansas to John Henry and Minnie Lou Reynolds as one of five sisters. After meeting on a blind date, she married her true love, Murley Johnson Jr., in 1961. Soon after they were blessed with two wonderful, angelic sons, Troy Wayne and David Duane.
Sherry loved spending her time taking care of family, spreading God’s word, attending sporting activities, gardening, working weekends on the farm, and teaching children at Tree Top School in Spring, TX. She enjoyed being a volunteer at the church, local food banks, clothes closets, and other charities in the areas she lived.
She was preceded in death by her son Troy, and sisters Francis Tilotta and Jamie Sue King.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 65 years, Murley, son David Johnson with his wife Leni, daughter-in-law Beverly Johnson, grandkids Shane, Shannon Rachal (Alex), Zachary, and Amberley, two sisters Jackie Cowart and Wanda Smith, as well as several great grandkids, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Henderson Nursing and Rehab and Longview Hill Nursing Center for the support and care they provided over the last few years.
