Sherry Lynn Bogue's Obituary
Sherry Lynn Reed Bogue departed this world and entered the kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, at Buckner Westminster Place. She was born September 16, 1940, in Goose Creek, TX to Zella and Charles Reed. Sherry was the second eldest of three daughters.
After graduating from Jacksonville HS, she went on to study Education at East Texas Baptist College. There she met Robert Thomas Bogue; the couple were married on February 11, 1961. The following year they welcomed their son, Robert Reed Bogue.
Sherry dedicated her life to being an educator, leading her students and anyone who met her with gentle grace and steadfast kindness. She loved to travel, venturing to corners of the globe such as Greece, New Zealand, and Paris. Sherry enjoyed long road trips with her family, often behind the wheel, trekking hundreds of thousands of miles all across the US. She spent her free time reading anything and everything by Nora Roberts, collecting bird houses, and traveling between her homes in Buena Vista, CO and Granite Shoals, TX.
Whether she was out shopping with the ladies or chatting with strangers in line at the grocery store, Sherry charmed everyone around her with a Texas drawl and a contagious smile. She was a loving wife, mother, and Mimi.
She is preceded in death by mother Zella and father Charles; sister, Barbara and husband Frank Brunt, and sister, Judy and husband Wayne Kent. She is survived by husband of 64 years, Robert Thomas Bogue; son, Reed Bogue and wife Melicia; granddaughter Priscilla and husband Chandler Dunn, granddaughter Sherry Liz; and beloved 12 year old dog, Renly.
Sherry’s visitation will be held Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm. She will be laid to rest the following morning at Rosewood Park Cemetery at 10am.
