Seymour Edward Russell's Obituary
Funeral services for Seymour Edward Russell, 92, of Henderson, are set for 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at the Rader Funeral Chapel
with Revs. Matt Gholson and Don Shultz officiating. Burial will follow
in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mr. Russell died Saturday, January 27, 2007, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born December 26, 1914 in Saledo, Texas , to Current Seymour and Gertrude Wesley Russell. He had been a resident of Henderson since 1938.
Mr. Russell was a US Navy veteran of World War II serving on the USS Spector AM 306, a mine sweeper. He was parts manager for Crim Truck and Tractor Company and a member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. He was a long time member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, and had been a Deacon for 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ethel Jane Russell Hoherd.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Betty Lou Milstead Russell of Henderson; daughter, Evelyn Russell of Henderson; son, Edward Russell and wife Ellen of Henderson; granddaughter, Angela Harris and husband Todd of Yuzhno-Sakhalin, Russia; grandson, Kenneth Edward Russell and wife Melissa, with the US Marines in North Carolina;great grandchildren; Maisie Harris, Mason Harris, Brianna Russell, and Chase Edward Russell.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Evans, Jake Bradley, Worth Whitehead, Lloyd Burd, Clell Kartchner, and Allen King.
