Sarah Ruth Nutting Jameson's Obituary
Sarah Ruth Nutting Jameson went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on April 6, 2017 at the age of 95 years. Mrs. Jameson died in Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, TX, following an illness.
Mrs. Jameson moved to Tyler, TX in December 2015 becoming a resident of Azalea Trails Assisted Living.
Mrs Jameson was a long time resident of Longview, TX, where she moved with her husband and children in the late 40’s. She was a seamstress, working from her home for over twenty-five years while her children grew older. Later she worked for the Longview Police Dept where she served as Deputy Clerk for the court and for the Police Office. She retired there at the age of 65, having served in this capacity for 15 years.
Mrs. Jameson and her family moved from Grand Prairie, TX to Longview in 1947 and very soon after joined Mobberly Baptist Church where she served with her husband on the Teller Committee for over 50 years. In her younger years she sang in the church choir and also served the church in many capacities as a volunteer.
She was loved by people of all ages, becoming long-time friends with many through the years.
She is preceded in death by her husband John C. Jameson; sons David C. Jameson and J. Michael Jameson; grandchildren, Rhea Michelle Sanders and Dewayne Jameson.
Mrs. Jameson had 4 children and is survived by daughters Frances L. Sanders (Artie) of Midlothian and Marjorie Miller (Les) of Tyler.
She has 10 living grandchildren, Gill Sanders (Preet) of Arlington, Jason Jameson (Mandy) of Longview, Jeff Jameson (Katy) of Paris, Jonathan Jameson (Jennifer) of Allen, Christy Strickland (Todd) of White Oak, Angie Woolley (Bryan) of Tyler, Tonia Miller (Bryan Belknap) of Burleson, Stephanie Miller (David Cobb) of Fort Worth, Mitzi Miller (Wes Hood) of New Waverly, Ginger Miller (Blair Swaim) of Tyler.
Mrs. Jameson is also survived by 24 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and a brother, Dr. R Rice Nutting (Eloise) of Louisville KY.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 2pm in the Chapel of Peace in the Mausoleum of Lakeview Cemetery with Rev. Gregg Zachery. The family would like to invite friends to visit following the Graveside Service.
