Graveside services for Sarah Elizabeth Baker, 93, of Hallsville, will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Bright Star Cemetery, Hope, Arkansas, with the Reverend Jerry Ford officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She died Monday morning, January 13, in Gladewater. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Baker was born November 12, 1909 in Hemstead County, Arkansas, and had been a resident of the Longview community since 1967. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mulberry Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Baker; parents, John and Margaret Thompson; daughter, Marion V. Nunes; son, Claude E. "Buddy" Baker; 3 brothers; and 1 sister. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Willie Martin of Fouke, Arkansas, Cora Troxell of White Oak, Sylvia and Phillip Haskell of Hallsville, and Bobby and James Johnson of Ore City; 17 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mulberry Springs Baptist, FM 449, Hallsville, TX 75650 or to the First Baptist Church, Big Sandy, TX.
