Funeral Services for Sarah E. Hisey, 79, of Longview will be held at Noon Saturday, May 11, 2002 at the First Presbyterian Church of Longview with the Reverends Jonathan Jehorek and W.D. ''Bill'' O?Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. For those unable to attend, you may visit our website at www.raderfh.com to sign an online memorial book. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Friday evening, May 10, 2002 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hisey was born on June 10, 1922 in Portland, Indiana, to Jack and Lula Thomas. She passed away on Wednesday morning, May 8, 2002 in a Longview hospital.
Mrs. Hisey and her husband spent a few years in Finland in the early 1980?s, but, had been a Texas resident for 33 years, and spent 12 years in Longview. She enjoyed reading, and all forms of arts and crafts. She was especially talented at needlework. She was a homemaker, served with her husband in the ''Meals On Wheels Program'' and an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Longview.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Hisey was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael F. Hisey, and is survived by, her husband of 59 years, Robert Hisey of Longview, daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Francis Mahan of Random Lake, Wisconsin, Becky and Mike Griffith of Irving, Texas, son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Belinda Hisey of Anchorage, Alaska, daughter-in-law, Janie Hisey of Rockwall, Texas, grandchildren, Ryan, Robert, and Drew Hisey, Sarah Jane Lange, Erica Hisey, and step grandchildren, Randy and David Griffith.
