Sandy graduated from Pine Tree High School and worked for the Longview News Journal as a paper carrier for many years. She had recently enrolled in classes at Kilgore Junior College in order to pursue a degree in psychology; it was her dream to help others heal from emotional trauma as a mental health counselor.
Sandy lived her life in service to her friends, family, and God. She was a devoted and loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a fiercely loyal friend who came to the aid of anyone who needed her help. She is mourned deeply by all who knew her; her smile and easy laughter will never be forgotten.
There will be a time of visitation in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Monday, May 7, 2018 from 6pm-8pm and a Celebration of Her Life Service Tuesday, May 8, 2018 starting at 2pm in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
“…the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death” (Isaiah 57:1-2).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Women's Center of East Texas, a charity supporting battered women and children that was near to Sandy's heart.
