Sandra (Sandi) Turner's Obituary
Sandra (Sandi) Turner, 54, of Longview, Texas, passed away in her home Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Sandra was born on March 2, 1959 in Longview, Texas to James and Mary Wasson. She is survived by her two daughters, Staci Turner of Longview, and Holli Radcliff and husband Casey of Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by her father, James Wasson of Longview; her brother Kevin Wasson and wife Kim of Longview and their son Keaton Wasson; her brother Duane Wasson and wife Julia of Longview and their two daughters Sarah and Duann; her cousin Cathy Wasson Woodruff of Wolfe City; her faithful dog Mikey and her cat Bells; and may close friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Wasson.
Sandra attended Pine Tree High School and earned her diploma in 1977. She was active in the band and was also a drum major. She briefly attended Stephen F. Austin afterwards. She married Gary Turner, also of Longview, and bore her two daughters from the marriage. She then attended Alvin Community College throughout the 1980’s and went on to become a court reporter. She was currently working at Olive Garden part time, and is survived by many friends and coworkers there. Sandra loved to watch the Cowboys and was an avid movie enthusiast and also enjoyed playing words with friends. She loved animals and collected lizards of all kinds. She never had much, but would have given the shirt off of her back to help anyone in need. She had an outgoing and positive nature and was loved very much by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25th at 10 AM in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Texas. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
