Sandra "Sandy" Kay Gilmore's Obituary
Sandra “Sandy” Kay Gilmore, born September 2, 1943, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, December 3, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a 1960 graduate from Pine Tree High School. She met and married her loving husband Bill and they shared an amazing 54 years together. Sandy was a majorette in high school, worked as a receptionist for SWEPCO and Texas Eastman, Mary Kay consultant, videographer for their Precious Memories business and the best Mom, Ma, Auntie, sister, daughter, friend and caregiver you could ever ask for. She was a devot Christian that loved the Lord with unwavering faith and felt a calling as a prayer warrior and Christian counselor to anyone in need. She loved to sing in church, tend to her flowers and plants (by the way, best green thumb gardener you’ll ever know bringing back any plant that had seen better days), sit on her beautiful back porch having coffee with her beloved Billy Boy feeding and talking to and singing to her birds and dancing with him as her favorite dance partner. She loved to cook and share food with her church, friends and family, if you left their house hungry, it was your own fault. She received so much joy going to watch her grandchildren participate in sports events, school programs, band concerts, cheer, twirling performances, dance recitals and competitions. She and her husband Bill were their biggest fans, best supporters and always showed up for them.
She loved waffles and pumpkin spice cappuccino for breakfast and some good crispy fish, coleslaw and always enjoyed a cold Pepsi. She even told us they better have Pepsi in heaven! She received great joy in gift giving, hosting friends and family at their home, spending time with her high school girlfriends and loving on grandkids and taking them places like putt putt golf, to arcades, bowling alley and movies, but above all her greatest passion was saving someone’s soul and leading them to the Lord where she and her husband served on the prayer team at their church. Her family and friends will miss her greatly and how much she influenced every life she touched.
Those left to cherish her memory are her late husband Bill receiving her in Heaven, her daughter Pam Hinch, with her husband Todd, Daughter Melanie Rankin, with her husband Doug, Grandchildren Nathan and his wife Linda, Josh, Luke and his wife Lexy, Lauren & Katie and 7 Great-Grandchildren Walker, Macee, Amaylee, Brooklyn, Avery and newly added Nash William (named after his Pa) and Lorelai Kay (named after her Ma), Sister Judy Johns, Sister-In-Law Linda Peterson and many nieces, nephews that she was a second Mom too and several cousins.
Family, friends, and others are invited on Saturday, December 6, 2025, to attend her visitation at 10:00 am and Service at 11:00 am at Rader Funeral Home located at 1617 Judson Rd Longview, TX 75601. Immediately following will be a committal service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview, TX.
