Judy I am so heartbroken. Although I did not know you and Sam very well, my mood was always lifted when I ran into you and Sam while walking or at the gym. His smile really could light up a room. My prayers are with you and your family during this time. Please give Bama a hug for me.
It was an honor to work with Sam for many years at Texas Instruments. And a pleasure to share many fishing trips with him on North Texas lakes. Sam was a good man. Honest. Honorable. Intelligent. A man of integrity. A good friend. Sam will be missed.
The boys and I send our sympathies for your loss. We are thinking about you and all the children. We have wonderful memories of baseball and the baseball family. Many fun times and great baseball.
Chris and Nick have followed in the footsteps of Bob and Sam. They both coached baseball for their oldest boys.
I am so sorry I will not be able to attend . Broke my leg of all things and still not healed. My thoughts will be you tomorrow.
Love Lee
Dear Judy and family,
I'm so saddened to hear of Sammy's passing. I recall as a kid watching and hearing Sammy's name when it came to sports. I also knew his late mother, Helen, very well and we used to have great discussions back at Famous Shoes here in Paris 'in the day'.
On behalf of Paris Junior College and Dragon Nation, we have truly lost a tremendous supporter, ally, and friend. May God continue to hold you and the family close today and in the days ahead. If at all possible, I hope to attend the celebration of Sammy's life.
Lifting you all in prayer---
