Samantha "Sam" Freeman
Funeral services for Samantha "Sam" Freeman, 26, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Pastor Garrette Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Judson Cemetery with Reverend Jim Crump officiating. She passed away in a Longview hospital following a sudden illness.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Sam was born December 7, 1986 in Longview. She was a 2005 graduate of Pine Tree High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler and lacked 1 year having her Masters Degree, and was an AXO sorority member. She was a teacher at the Hallsville Junior High School where she taught students with Dyslexia. Sam was a member of Grace Creek Church in Longview where she taught 4 years olds.
Sam was a participant in the organ donor program, and as a result, her heart and liver will give life to 2 recipients. Her lungs were donated to asthma research, and will provide valuable information to asthma research.
Sam was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ellen Sonnier.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lainey Marie Reynolds of Longview; parents, Gene Freeman, Jr. and Carole Freeman of Longview; brothers, Gene Freeman, III, "Trey" and his fiancée Christi Smith, Joe Freeman and wife Stacie and their son, Brentan and William "Bill" Freeman, all of Longview; grandparents, Gene and Evelyn Freeman of Lakeport and David Sonnier of Longview; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
