Salvador "Sal" Rangel Salinas' Obituary
Salvador (Sal) Rangel Salinas passed away at his home in White Oak, TX on Thursday, November 10, 2022. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
Salvador was born to Manuel and Guadalupe Salinas in Beeville, TX on January 8, 1944. One of nine children, he grew up on a farm where he learned strong family values and the importance of hard work. He implemented this into his work ethic in the industrial field for more than 50 years.
In 1986, Salvador met Sharon at the Town Square in Lufkin, TX. He and Sharon went on to combine their households with five children, Yolanda Kay Salinas, Ruth Alexander, Janna Jellum-Velasquez, Carmen Sandoval, and Daniel Sandoval.
Salvador instilled his life lessons in his children, teaching them to value family and God above all else. He was a very charismatic man that enjoyed joking and laughing with family and friends. In 2016, Salvador retired and spent his time with family and friends cooking out, watching his favorite football team – the Dallas Cowboys, annual family reunions, playing pool, fishing, and reminiscing about his glory high school football days.
Salvador was predeceased by Guadalupe R Salinas, Manuel Salinas Sr, Jesus R Salinas, San Juanita Salinas Gonzales, and Mary Salinas Kershaw. He is survived by his wife Sharon, their children: Yolanda Kay Wright, Ruth Alexander, Janna Jellum-Velasquez, Carmen Sandoval, Daniel Sandoval. His grandchildren and great grandchildren, Angel Reeder, Seth Wright, Lauren Wright, Jada Perry, Madilyn Wright, Zoey Velasquez, Piper Velasquez, Emilia Hopkins, Sophia Kochin, Noah Sandoval, Harrison Reeder. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers Olga Salinas Rubio, Manuel R Salinas Jr., Robert R Salinas, Joe R Salinas, and Patricia Patsy Salinas Salazar.
Memorial services will be held at Rader Funeral Home located at 1617 Judson Rd Longview, TX 75601. There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, November 16 from 5:00 - 7:00pm. The funeral will be Thursday, November 17 at 10:00am in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home followed by burial at White Oak Cemetery at 150 W. Whatley Rd. White Oak, TX 75693 directly behind Rock Hill Church and a reception at the Sandoval Residence - 305 Ames Gladewater, TX 75647.
