S.L. "Red" Miller's Obituary
Born to Cecil Burton and Ouida May Townsend Miller, December 16, 1938, in Hobbs, New Mexico. Red, at 17 years old, joined the military and spent 26 years in the Navy and reserve.
e is preceded by his parents and little sister, Sharwyn Miller.
Survived by wife, Linda Y. Miller, Longview. Children, Cheryl Ann French, John Burt Miller, and Sheryl Marie Torres (Jose), all of Chelsea, MA. and Jamie Mars (Grant), Lance Kokenzie (Melissa), and Amber Smith (Robert), all of Longview. Sisters, Jean Hunt, Portland, OR. and Rita Bingham of Medford, OR. Eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In honor of Red, there will be a memorial held Saturday, March 4 at 10:00 am at Spring Hill First Baptist Church with Pastors Wayne Spanhanks and Wayne Haney officiating. A military burial will follow at 12:00 noon at Rosewood Cemetery, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home. Visitation is welcomed any time at the home of Red and Linda or before the memorial at the church.
The family would like to thank Dr. C.R Martin for his dedication in Reds lifetime medical care and friendship. Karen for her continuous caring nature and Jason and Stacy of Heartsway Hospice.
