Ruth William's Obituary
Mrs. Horace Williams
December 4, 1920 – October 8, 2009
Ethel Ruth Williams was a prayer warrior who was dedicated to Jesus, her husband, and two daughters. Her family was her life. Horace and Ruth have been members of Longview First Assembly of God since 1934. Together they have designed, constructed, and decorated two church buildings and over 120 homes in the Longview area. Other interests included cooking, reading, sewing, earning an FAA private license, flying the family airplane, and studying piano under the direction of Anne Turk. Even though she recently moved to Dallas to be near family members, her heart remained in Longview. Remaining family members include her daughters and their husbands: Sharon and Norman Seaton and Marcia and Jonathan Godwin, plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many fond memories. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Horace Williams, her parents Bob and Ethel Russell, and two sisters, Mary Ellen Okerberg and Mabel Barham.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, October 12, 2009 at Longview First Assembly of God. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the funeral home.
