Ruth Wagner's Obituary
Ruth Wagner passed away in the early morning of January 1, 2024, in Longview, TX. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ruth Wagner was born in Holden, MO, to parents Ernest and Irene Hayes on November 22, 1926. She loved gardening and traveling with her husband Dean; getting to explore most of the United States and much of the World. She was a strong, determined woman with a great sense of humor. She believed in standing up for yourself and helping those that needed it. Her house was where all the kids would hang out, she treated our friends as if they were her own. Soon after moving to Longview, she started volunteering for Longview Regional Medical Center as part of the Senior Friends, retiring after over 20 years at the age of 90. After moving to Buckner, she enjoyed teaching everyone the correct way to play Rummikub and cribbage. She loved keeping up with her family on her trusty iPad.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Dean Wagner; a son, Paul Wagner; as well as her brothers Dan and Cary and her sister Kathryn. Those left to cherish their memories of Ruth include her daughters and their husbands: Kathy and Rod Guinn, Linda and Eric Hilton and Marie and Stephen Vale, and her son Dennis and his wife Debra; Her grandchildren Eric, Meghan, Theresa, Ashley, Molly, DJ, Mitchell and Suzanna. She has 5 great-grandchildren; Lillian, Aliya, Athena, TJ and Silas and Quin Ruth, arriving soon, as well as her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends and all of her Buckner buddies.
In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree.
