Ruth M. Arnold
Born in Erie, Pa. December 12, 1919.
Received her Bachelor?s Degree in Elementary Education from Edinboro State Teacher?s College. Masters Degree from Duke University, and a Professional Diploma from Teacher?s College Columbia University. Taught school in Pennsylvania, Pearl Harbor Hawaii and Longview ISD. Later, ending her teaching career at the Elementary Coordinator for Longview ISD with 40 years of service in public schools. Life member of Texas Parent Teacher Assn., Texas State Teacher?s Assn, and Good Shepherd Medical Center Auxiliary. Member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Longview where she was the first woman in the history of the church to serve on the vestry.
Preceded in death by husband James J. John Arnold, stepchildren Betty Jean Ramos, James Donald Arnold, Gloria McKinney.
Survivors include brother Joseph Handley, sister, Mary Lou Spannbauer, son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Shirley Arnold, step-children Johnny Ray Arnold and Shirley Mae Arnold, grandchildren James Arnold, Jennifer Arnold, Kimberly Hollan. Great grandchildren Hailee and Hunter Hollan and numerous other step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6to 8 pm Tuesday November 14 at Rader Funeral Home . Funeral services will be Wednesday November 15 at 10 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church with Reverend Kevin Whitmire officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Arnold passed away Sunday November 12, 2006 in Longview.
