Memorial services for Ruth Jones Buck, 94, of Longview, will be 11 AM Monday in the First United Methodist Church Chapel with Reverend David Lindwall officiating.
Mrs. Buck died Friday evening in a local nursing facility.
Ruth was born January 9, 1913 in Long Branch, Texas to Lee and Jewel Jones. She received her Bachelor and Masters degree from Texas State Women?s College and the University of Texas. Ruth was a career educator, serving as a Home Demonstration Agent in Victoria and a Home Economics Professor at Penn State University for over 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Buck. Ruth is survived by a brother: Cassity Jones, a sister: Mildred Jones Norris, both of Longview; nieces and nephews: Tommie Lynn Jones Carley of St Louis, Jan Jones Forester of Longview, John L. Jones of Henderson, Jennifer Jones Anderson of Nacogdoches, Jim Jones of Longview, Melinda Jones Lowrey of Ft. Smith, Tina Jones Vardeman of Nacogdoches, Jerry Jones of Tyler and 25 great nieces and nephews.
The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church of Longview.
