Ruth Russell Hathorn
Funeral services for Ruth Russell Hathorn, 86, of Longview will be held at 2 Pm Tuesday, May 10, 2005 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with her nephew Dale Briley officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Gladewater. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday evening, May 9, at the funeral home, 1617 Judson Road.
Mrs. Hathorn was born on September 18, 1918 in Margaret to Thomas Webster Russell and Ruth Inez Evans Russell. She passed away on Friday evening, May 6, 2005 in a Richardson nursing facility.
She met Frank Donald Hathorn and they married on January 26, 1957. After his retirement from the military, Mr. and Mrs. Hathorn were privileged to enjoy many sights of the world as they traveled extensively.
Mrs. Hathorn was a member of NARFE, AARP, Alcoholics Anonymous, Ham Radio Club, and the First Baptist Church of Longview where she attended the Faith Sunday School Class.
A loving, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mrs. Hathorn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother, Thurman Wayne Russell; and sisters, Betty Louise Russell LeBaron, and Alice Bagley Russell.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald David Sr., and Audra Ann Schvab of Richardson; grandchildren, Ronald David Schvab Jr., and his wife Sandra of Marrero, LA., John Charles Schvab Sr., and his wife Rebecca of Billings, MO., Mary Frances Lamb Dodds and her husband Kevin of Rowlett; great grandchildren, Karin Elizabeth Schvab, Ashleigh Ann Schvab, John Charles Schvab, Jr., Zachary Landon Lamb, Kaitlyn Danielle Dodds; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
