Russell "Rusty" Roberts' Obituary
Funeral services for Russell “Rusty” Roberts will be held on Monday, January 21 at 2pm in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, a time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Rusty passed away in the late afternoon of Tuesday, January 15, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Rusty was born in Boynton OK on February 24, 1924 to parents Austin and Ollie Roberts. He was the last of the founding members of the Greggton Rotary Club. He was a 33rd degree Mason and charter member of the Pine Tree Masonic Lodge #1396. Rusty also retired as the Road Superintendant of Precinct 1 in Gregg County.
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Ollie Roberts; his wife of over 60 years, Ann Lois Pliler Roberts; and all of his brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish their memory of Rusty include his children Jim Roberts and his wife Mary Jo, and Sheri Roling and her husband Tony; grandchildren Scott Roberts, Amy Nelson, SuAnn Toney, Sonya Wells, and Casey Roling; and 8 great-grandchildren. Rusty will also be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
