Russell Nelson Lowman's Obituary
Memorial services for Russell Nelson Lowman will be held Sunday at 3 PM at First United Methodist Church of Longview with Rev. Michael L. Schutz and Rev. John Stone officiating.
Russell Lowman went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2013. He was born in Staples, TX on January 15, 1928 to C.A. and Mildred Lowman. Russell was married to his beautiful bride, Ann Smith Lowman, a Longview native, two weeks short of their 60th anniversary.
Russell was a graduate of Robstown High School and Rice University, and he proudly served his country in the United States Army during Korea.
Russell and Ann have lived in Longview for the past 17 years. His career in the agriculture and produce business spanned over 65 years. Russell began farming in the valley. After leaving the Valley they moved to Mexico where the entire family learned Spanish. They made their home in Alice, TX for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Smith Lowman; one sister, Nell Carlston of Tucson, AZ; one daughter Laurie Yarbrough of Alice, TX; his sons and their wives Terry and Diana Lowman of New Braunfels, TX, John and Jana Lowman of Aubrey, TX, Richard and Pam Lowman of Alice, TX, and Russell Jr. and Cindy Lowman of White Oak, TX; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Donation may be made to Gregg County Historical Museum or the First United Methodist Church.
