Ruel Hayes Morton, Sr.'s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Ruel Hayes Morton, Sr., announces his passing on Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at the age of 69.
Ruel was born September 4, 1938 in Beckville, Texas. He served his country in the U. S. Army.
In 1954, he began his railroad career of 30 years. In 1969 he became very active in Little League baseball, serving as coach and president.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earvle and Connie Morton, and his sister Lanice Harrell.
Ruel will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Melba, and his children, Ruel, Jr. and wife, Angel of Hawkins, Donnie of Arlington. Ruel will also be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Kourtney, Sydney and Landon and by his nieces Jana Ponder and Jill Walther.
A funeral service in memory of Ruel will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Longview Metro Church, 310 N. Spur 63, Longview, with Reverend Rob Parsons officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Yellow Rose Ranch.
