Ruby Lee Taylor's Obituary
Services for Ruby Lee Taylor, 84, of Henderson will be held at 2:00pm Saturday August 26, 2017 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Bro. Pat Shannon and Bro. Eldon Warren officiating. Visitation will be from 1pm until service time. A private burial will be held at Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass, Texas at a later date.
Ruby was born on December 10, 1932 in Laredo, Texas to Joseph Edmon and Rafaela Bates. The family moved to Aransas Pass, Texas in 1943. She attended school and married her husband John Lee Taylor on December 23, 1952 in Aransas Pass, Texas. They had two daughters Norma Diann and Barbara Lynn. Ruby attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas where she earned a degree in Nursing. She was employed by Mid-Jefferson Co. Hospital for 28 years. Ruby enjoyed sewing, all types of crafts, painting, tending to her flowers and gardening. Her most enjoyable thing was to study the Bible. She moved to Henderson, Texas to live with her daughter, Barbara Lynn Nacol in 2005. Ruby was a member of West Main Baptist Church of Henderson. She joined on September 5, 2010.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents; Joseph Edmon and Rafaela Bates, her husband John Lee Taylor, her daughter Norma Diann, her brother Joseph Edmon Bates, Jr., and her sister Mary Helen Haskin.
Survivors include her daughter Barbara Lynn Nacol of Henderson. Step-son John Lee Taylor, Jr. of Longmont, CO, sister Ruth Parr of Bakersfield, CA, and brother John Baptist Bates of Oklahoma City, OK. Nephew William A. Hill and wife Lisa of New Iberia, LA, John V. Parr and wife Christina of Azusa, CA. Nieces Lorie L. Walden and husband Charles of Elizabethton, Ten., Stacey Schmitt and husband Mark of Bakersfield, CA, Joni Nelson and husband Greg of Oklahoma City, OK and Judi Newberry and Colton of Oklahoma City, OK. Grandchildren Charles S. Nacol and wife Marie and son Maddox of New Iberia, LA, Yvonne M. Sweeney and husband Austin and children Grant and Kate of Stillwater, OK, and Audrey A. and husband Kevin Rossler and son Wyatt of Mansfield, Texas. Thirteen great nephew and nieces and 10 great-great nieces and nephews. Grand puppy Mr. Beau.
