Ruby Marie Smitherman's Obituary
Ruby Marie Smitherman, age 92, of Longview, Texas went to be with the Lord Friday March 30, 2012. She passed at home with her loving family by her side. She was born October 10, 1919 in Ida, Louisiana to Alex and Mollie Crain.
Ruby is survived by her twin sons, David Claude Smitherman and his wife Ruby of Longview, Texas and Alvin Clyde Smitherman and his wife Mary of West Monroe, Louisiana. She also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a very close friend of the family, Cynthia Akilo.
Ruby is preceded in passing by her loving husband of 62 years, DA Smitherman, and two sons, Danny and Mike Smitherman.
There will be a time of visitation at Rader Funeral Home, Longview, Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 5pm-7pm then funeral services the next day, Monday, April 2, 2012 at Rader Funeral Home, starting at 2pm with Pastor Charles Hunt of Woodland Hills Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow services at Rosewood Park, Longview.
Honoring Ruby as pall bearers will be Calvin Golden, Paul Golden, Marc Murdoch, John David Smitherman, Rodney Smitherman and Blake McMellon.
The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Tommie and John from the Hospice Care Team who was so kind and attentive in caring for mom.
