Ruby Spence was born September 17, 1922 in Troup, Texas. She was a retired Justice of the Peace of Precinct # 4 in Rusk County, and was a Baptist.
Her family will remember her for her courage, especially in the days when, after losing her husband to cancer at the age of 64, she took over his job as Justice of the Peace, then was reelected on her own. They will remember her generosity not only to her family, but to the many friends that filled her life and were nurtured in her home. They will remember her care in helping love and teach three generations of a family that followed her , filling their lives with lullabies, hugs and security. They will remember her delight and laughter as she watched each new baby grow into an adult she loved. Most of all, they will remember, as they are missing her so keenly, that they were blessed to have had her love and life to touch and guide their own. And always, they will love her.
