Ruby L. Myers' Obituary
Graveside services for Ruby L. Myers, 93, of Longview will be 12 Noon Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the New Providence Cemetery with Rev. Dewayne Beaty officiating under direction of Rader Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 25, 2009 from 3 until 5 PM.
Mrs. Myers died Friday afternoon, May 22, 2009 at a local hospital.
She was born on August 12, 1915 in Longview to Herman Hammond and Berta Pruitt Hammond and was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Longview.
She married Leonard P. Myers on October 20, 1931 in Longview and was preceded in death by him and a sister, Annie Laurie Lewis and a brother, Howard Bill Hammond.
Mrs. Myers was a longtime member of the Eastern Star. She and her husband owned and operated Myers Grocery and Market for 45 years.
She will be missed by her two daughters, Wanda Dark and husband, Bill of Conroe and Jo Ann Harman of Tyler. Five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, a sister, Mary Nell McMahon and a brother, Wilmer Joe Hammond.
