Funeral services for Ruby Katheryne Jones, 88, formerly of Longview will be held at Noon Monday, January 19, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road, with the Reverend Rex Forsyth officiating. Burial will follow in Hallsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday, evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jones was born on April 6, 1915 in Hallsville to John L. and Gertie Bass. She passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2004 in a Houston hospital.
Mrs. Jones was self employed in child care, was a member of the Eastern Star Longview Chapter 610, a member of the ?Sweet Adelines? singing group, and a charter member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Archie Jones; and three brothers, John Henry Bass, Bobby Joe Bass, and Harry Leonard Bass. She is survived by her nephews, John Gayland Bass of Houston, Joe Henry Bass of Denham, LA., David Wayne Bass of Palmetta, LA; nieces, Stacy Armond of Krotz Springs, LA., Kathy Wisley of San Antonio; sisters-in-law, Vera Mae Bass of Krotz Springs, LA., Billie June Bass of Pearland; and numerous aunts and uncles.
