Graveside services for Ruby Craft Hines Hawley, 85, of Longview will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Algoma South Cemetery in Marshall with the Reverend Scott Schulik officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road.
Mrs. Hawley was born on August 26, 1918 in Hannisville, MS to John Valentine and Katie Hudson Craft. She passed away on March 22, 2005 in a Longview hospital.
She attended Marshall public schools, was a former member of Central Baptist Church in Marshall, where she taught Sunday school for a number of years; past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star Aurora Chapter 799; member of the Modern Mothers Club; officiated public speaking concerning social problems of teenagers and Christianity in the homes; was a former member of the Longview Women?s forum; and was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church where she was involved in ?Young at Heart?.
In 1936 she married M.T. Hines in Marshall, he passed away in 1968. The lord led her to Willard Pratt, and in 1975 they married. After Mr. Pratt?s passing, she on May 25, 1979 married Frank Hawley who survives her today.
Also surviving Mrs. Hawley are her daughters, Peggy Matheny of Shreveport, LA., Shirley Sutton and her husband Ken of Ashdown, AR., a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Jolly Wilcox of Dallas; brother, Beauford Craft of Longview; step-son, Jerry Hawley and his wife Imojean of Longview; step-daughter, Sandy Martin of San Antonio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Loretta Hines.
