Laughton was one East Texas finest men. He was an outstanding attorney and a friend to many. I want to extend my deepest sympathy and prayers to Martha and family.
Mr. Whitehead was kind, knowledgeable and the quintessential professional. He taught me just about everything that was ever worth learning. Boss, you will be missed, and this world was a better place for having you in it.
Laughton was one of the first attorneys I met when beginning my law practice in East Texas. He was so generous with his time in “showing me the ropes” and was always available to answer a legal question. He was a formidable opponent in court and I learned so much from him. He was the consummate gentleman, on and off the court. I don’t think there was a time I visited with Laughton when he didn’t mention his family and, when he did, his smile lit up the room. He was a colleague, mentor and friend. The East Texas community has lost a shining star. My deepest condolences to the entire Whitehead family. Karen Bishop
Remembering the good times we had in Longview in the mid Fifties. My prayers are with the family during this sad time. Jim Poore
My prayers are with the entire family at this time.
My deepest condolences to all of the Whitehead family and my prayers are with you. Laughton was such an inspiration to me during my legal career. He was a kind and willing mentor. All I had to do was give him a call or stop him in the Courthouse and ask him a question or give him a scenario and he would give me his time and his wisdom. What a wonderful man, lawyer and friend! He will be missed by everyone who admired him and I am proud to say that I am one of those. Vicki K. Haynes
