Roy Gene Miller Sr.'s Obituary
Memorial services for Roy G. Miller, 74, will be held at 10 am Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview, TX. Family will receive friends on Monday, October 30 from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Roy was born on April 3, 1943 in Greenhill, TX to Ervin Miller and Oberia McFarland. He went hpme to our Lord on October 27, 2017. Roy was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother, Douglas Miller and his beloved dog, Gizmo.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Margie Miller; his son, Roy Miller Jr. of White Oak; daughter and son-in-law, Larry and Melissa Fyffe of Longview; half-brother, David Miller; adopted daughter and son-in-law, James and Liz Holt of White Oak; adopted son and daughter-in-law, David and Debbie Pace of White Oak. Roy was loved and adored by his 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two nieces.
Roy retired from Holt Caterpillar in April 2007, where he was a devoted mechanic for 34 years. Roy’s hobbies included working on and building Racecars, “supervising” the guys at the shop, and playing cards and dominoes with friends and family. Roy loved his NASCAR and wrestling. He also enjoyed camping at the number 8 car wash at Alberts Pike and riding 4-wheelrs at Wolf Pen Gap. Roy also served with the military in the Army National Guard.
The family is especially grateful for his medical staff and Pine Tree Lodge for their dedication and loving care he received in his time of illness.
Roy was a devoted husband, a loving father, and an amazing Papa. He will be missed dearly by so many.
Pallbearers will be David Pace, James Holt, Justin Holt, Randy Richardson, Randall Holman, and Randy Carrigan. Honorary Pallbearers are Shawn Valdetero and Nash “Bubba” Gibson.
