Roy Hollingsworth's Obituary
Funeral services for James Roy Hollingsworth, 87, of Longview will be held at 10 AM Saturday, March 30, 2013 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Burial will follow at Memory Park Cemetery. Mr. Hollingsworth passed away on March 27, 2013 at Good Shepherd Hospital. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Roy was born on June 5, 1925 to James Robert and Annie Mae Hollingsworth of Frankston. He went to school in Frankston. On March 28, 1945, he married Louise Wright. They would have been married 68 years the 28th of March. They moved to Longview in 1948 where Roy worked as a Butcher for Brookshires in Longview, Stop & Shop in Pine Tree, Skinners on Judson Road, and from there went to Skinners in Lakeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Barbara Hollingsworth; his brother, Arles Hollingsworth; his sisters, Camille Posey and Patsy Howell of Longview, Judy Hartzog of Beaumont, and Cassie Kiker if Silsbee.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Louise; his sons and daughters-in-law Jerry and wife Linda Hollingsworth of Longview, Robert Hollingsworth of Longview, and James and Autumn Hollingsworth of Canton; his daughter Kay Mason of Longview; and one sister, Maggie Downs of Longview. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; and lots nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
