Roy Gene Tinsley's Obituary
Graveside services celebrating the life of Roy G. Tinsley age 79 of Longview, will be 2pm Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Rosewood Park Cemetery in Longview with his niece the Reverend Heather Williamsen officiating.
He was born January 5, 1932 in Center, Texas to the late John T. and Willie Tinsley. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Longview. He was a retired Battalion Chief from the Longview Fire Department with 28 years of service.
Mr. Tinsley was preceded in death by his precious wife Betty, son, Alger G. Tinsley and sister, Dorothy Garrison.
He is survived by his sister, Christie Breaux and her husband Johnny of Orange, Texas, granddaughter, Brittany Tinsley, and daughter-in-law Cheryl Tinsley of Longview, numerous nieces and nephews and his sweetheart whom he dearly loved, Florence Claxton. Roy attended school and graduated high school in Orange, Texas.
The family will receive friends the day of the service at Rader Funeral Home, Longview, 10am to 12pm.
Memorial Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Longview, or the charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Longview.
