Roy Dee Stewart, Sr. Funeral services for Roy Dee Stewart, Sr., 68, of Union Grove, formerly of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Brother Chris Rodgers officiating. Interment will be in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Our loving Papa went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Good Shepherd Medical Center after a long battle with heart and lung disease. Roy was born October 5, 1938 to J. D. and Elsie Stewart in Buffalo, Texas. He was employed by Capacity of Texas, Inc. for 23 years before he retired because of health problems. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the Adult 7 Sunday School Class. He was Papa to 12 grandchildren, who were the apples of his eyes, and to whom he gave all loving nick names. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved gardening. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Glenda; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Tom and Karen Wills; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Stephanie, Darrell and Pam, all of Union Grove, and Jay and Candice of Longview; 12 precious grandchildren, Shelby, Dakota and Dalton Wills, Tausha, Josh and Krystal, Haley and Corey, Caleb, Alexis, Cadi and soon to be born Abbigail DeeLynn; 1 sister, Helen Oldag of Sealy; 3 brothers, Glynn of Garrison, Paul of Shreveport, and Robert of Texas City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and 1 sister, Florence Poe. The family would like to thank Dr. Henry and Dr. Elhalwagi and all the sweet nurses at Good Shepherd Medical Center for their special care.
