Roy Alton Ellis' Obituary
Roy Alton Ellis was born August 14, 1933. He served in the United States Army in Germany from 1956-1958. Roy retired from Gifford Hill Pipe after 35 years. In 1975, Roy married Sandra Odom and together they have six children. Michael Roy, Cindy, Jim, Bobby, Jimmy and Wanda. Roy was a devoted husband and cherished his wife and children. He loved camping at Caddo Lake and fishing in his yellow boat.
Gone to Heaven are his father Houston Ellis, mother Eva McNutt, step-mother Glennell Ellis, and special friend Bill Odom and his sister Georgianne Williams.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Sandra; his children, Michael Roy, Cindy, Jim, Bobby, Jimmy and Wanda. Surving siblings are Lynn Ellis, Darlene Breaux, Don Smith, Ray Smith, Houston Ellis, Barbara Smith, and Jodi Bruner. Left to remember their Paw Paw are 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Roy's final request, are donations to Cornerstone Baptist Church in honor of his wife, Sandra Ellis.
Funeral services will be at 3PM on Wed. May 22, 2013 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Brother Vaun Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park.
