Roxie Mae Bratton's Obituary
Private memorial services for Roxie Mae Spencer, 86, will be held at a later date. She passed away Friday, August 20, 2004 in a Longview nursing facility. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mrs. Spencer was born November 4, 1917 in Maud, Texas, to Odie James and Lillie Mae Shaver. She moved to Longview from Atlanta, Texas where she had been a resident for 25 years. She also lived in Dallas, Texas, and was a circuit board supervisor for Texas Instruments for 10 years. Mrs. Spencer was also a former resident of Maud and Texarkana. She was an avid gardener and loved animals, especially cats, and was a Baptist.
Mrs. Spencer was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Spencer Bratton and William Sydney Bratton of Longview; granddaughter, Dr. Sherilyn Emberton of Longview; grandson, Kevin Emberton and his wife Tonya of Fayetteville, GA.; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Grant, and Cole Emberton; sisters and brother-in-law, Doris and George Haggard of Naples, TX., Dona B. Stewart of Atlanta, TX., and Audrey Stover of Texarkana, TX., nieces, Barbara McCoy of Atlanta, and Brenda Moon of Texarkana; nephews, Mark Stewart and Mitchell Haggard both of Atlanta, Dale Haggard of Abilene, TX., and Keith Haggard of Albuquerque, NM.
