Rosemary McCash's Obituary
Rosemary died March 12, 2010, at age 80 of complications of Alzheimer's disease. She grew up in Trenton, Missouri, and after graduating from high school moved to Kansas City to begin training for her RN degree. She met her future husband, Dr. Wray McCash, at Kansas City General Hospital and the were married on April 17, 1953.
Rosemary and Wray have three daughters, Ann Marie, Deborah Kay, and Mary Julia. As a stay-at-home mom, Rosemary taught them well the value of being in a loving family and the importance of treating others with concern and kindness.
Rosemary's greatest love outside her family was reading. She had a great intellectual curiosity and read broadly, though her special interests were history especially related to England, religion, and classical art. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and was long active as a part of the Altar Guild. Rosemary was also a lay reader for several years. She served 20 years in Meals on Wheels in partnership with her good friend, Janie Akin.
In more recent years, Rosemary enjoyed participation in a bridge group, as well as travel with Elderhostel groups for the study of art.
Rosemary is survived by her husband, Wray, of 56 years, daughter, Ann Apprill and grandchildren Allison Apprill, Libby Apprill. and Andrew Apprill of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter Debbie Taylor and son-in-law Robert Taylor of Dallas, Texas; daughter Mary Johnston and son-in-law Terry Johnston and grandchildren Lance Johnston and Christy Johnston of Parker, Texas.
Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home from 5PM to 7PM on Monday, March 15th, 2010. After a private burial service, a memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church on Tuesday, March 16th at noon.
Rosemary's family is grateful for the loving and compassionate care given to her by the staff at Hawkins Creek Memory Center, and the Texas Home Health Hospice.
