Rose Marie Mihalick's Obituary
ROSE MARIE O?DONNELL MIHALICK, 91 years young, loving Mother, Grandma, Gigi and devoted friend to many passed from us on January 10, 2007. Rose was born in Houston Texas to Anthony and Rose O?Donnell on January 7, 1916 and was forever proud of her Irish family roots.
Rose grew up in Crowley, Louisiana, where her father owned the Standard Rice Mill, and attended Louisiana State University where she met and married LSU football star John D. Mick Mihalick in 1937. After Mick served in the Pacific in World War II, they moved to Houston. She spent her adult life raising her loving family and was a member of St. Michael?s Catholic Church and Holly Trail Garden Club. She was also a Tea Room Patron of the Junior League of Houston. In 2001 she was widowed and moved to Longview and resided at Buckner Westminster Place where she loved her many friends.
Rose is survived by her son, John of Pensacola, Florida; daughter Pat and her husband Buddy Williams of Lake Cherokee; granddaughters Kimberly and her husband David Bernstein of Pensacola, Florida, Sheila Mihalick of Charlestown, Massachusetts, and Shaun and her husband Neal Harpstrite of The Woodlands, Texas; great grandchildren Cole and Paula Bernstein and Aidan and Brody Harpstrite.
