Bro. Ronnie was my pastor during my junior high and high school years. Mrs. June Starr taught one of my Sunday school classes. Years later, Bro. Ronnie helped me see a dark time in my life for what it was. And later still, I was privileged to hear him preach again at Trinity Baptist. He was truly a man of God and someone I respected very much. I am grateful to have been a lamb in his flock.

My wife and I were both tremendously blessed by Bro. Ronnie's ministry. He was the first pastor to invite me to preach a revival meeting in Longview at Trinity Baptist Church in 1979 and I met him in 1977 at a youth retreat when I was on the program with him at Lone Star. My wife and I have driven many miles to hear Bro. Ronnie preach and he was one of the most effective preachers we have ever heard. We will be praying for his family.

The candle reminds me of Christmas carols at church June would have to remind me and Ronnie how to hold our candles for the carols and candle lights when we would light them, we always mess them up. I am so sorry to be about Bro. Ronnie. He was a very precious man. I so enjoyed growing up at Trinity Baptist with him, Ms. Starr, Cheryl & April. Bro. Ronnie married me and my husband 20 years ago. It makes me smile everytime I think about the days leading up to my wedding and the counseling sessions my husband and I went through with him. He would always make my laugh and would try to put me at ease. He will always hold a special place in my heart forever. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family during this time.
