Ronnie Bickham's Obituary
Ronnie Bickham, 82, went to be with Our Lord on Thursday, April 27,
2023. He was born September 19, 1940, in Shreveport, Louisiana to
parents Frank N. Bickham and Marcella Ann Reid Bickham.
Ronnie graduated from Fair Park High School, class of 1956. He went to
Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana and Centenary College in Shreveport,
Louisiana.
Ronnie joined Western Geophysical in June of 1968. He worked his way up
from Oiler to Port Engineer to Marine Superintendent which involved
extensive travel. He traveled around the world living in Singapore, New
Zealand and Norway. In 1980 he was transferred to Seattle, WA, and was
the Seattle based Marine Superintendent. In 1987 he was transferred to
The Gulf Coast Division in Galveston, Texas. At that time he bought a
cattle farm in East Texas and commuted home on the weekends when he was
in the States. He continued to work with Western Geophysical until 2000.
The Cattle Farm became his full time job and he worked that until his
health failed. He always said the prettiest place he has seen is looking
at East Texas over the hood of his tractor.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, his aunts: Baby Porta, Mary
Rathburn, and Nudy Morris; two uncles Pat Bickham and Ed Bickham and his
grandparents Frank David Bickham and Aileen Hartley Bickham.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Eva Sue Bickham, Sister Lynn
Bickham Ross, and children: daughter Dee Ann Ehrhorn (Bill), daughter
Cheryl Denise Bickham Linton (Ted), Son Scott Bickham (Leida), Son
Darrell R. Bickham (Tanya), Son Kevin M. Neal and daughter Julia Ann
Bickham. And seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. And his
Border collie "Jake."
Visitation is 11:00 Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Shiloh Baptist Church
with graveside services to follow at 12:00 Shiloh Cemetery in Minden,
Texas.
Pallbearers are: Sonny Bickham, Breck Bickham, Greg Bickham, Jeff
Roberson, Klint Meredith and Steve Porta. Honorary Pallbearers: Bill
Ehrhorn, Dave Cope, Sid Fowler, Ted Linton, Steve Pickens, Skeet
Rathburn, Eddie Turner and John Webb.
