Ronnie Allen Freeman's Obituary
Ronnie Allen Freeman went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 18, 2005, after a courageous two year battle with cancer.
Ronnie was born in Longview, Texas, to Ruth Laverne Waits Freeman and the late Noah Allen Freeman on July 25, 1948. He graduated from Tatum High School and attended Panola Junior College. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army for three years. While serving in Viet Nam, he was awarded two Bronze Stars and numerous other medals.
Ronnie loved his job as a printer for Hudson Printing, where he considered his co-workers as part of his family. He was a devoted father and coach who loved his children and all of his players. His most special memories were coaching boys? baseball and following his sons? careers as an avid fan of Lobo football and baseball.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Noah Allen Freeman. He is survived by his wife, Mary Rawls Freeman; daughter, Lisa Freeman; son, Walter Freeman; sons & daughters-in-law, Landon & Lisa Hawk and Lucas & Gabby Hawk; sons, Gordon & Carlin Freeman; and grand-children, Patrick Hawk & Kaitlyn Hawk. He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Laverne Waits Freeman & mother-in-law, Gwynne Rawls; sister & brother-in-law, Patricia Freeman Conner & Tom; and brothers & sisters-in-law, Reverend Sammy Joe Freeman & Louise, Andy Freeman & Susie; sisters-in-law, Linda Kerr of Austin, and Suzanne & Tom Graham of Marble Falls. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 2-4pm on Sunday, at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Road. Services will be held at 2pm on Monday, November 21, 2005, at First Assembly of God Church, 2900 N. Fourth Street, Longview, Texas. Burial will follow in Chalk Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Longview Cancer Center, 1300 N. Fourth Street, Longview, Texas, 75601.
